I bought a Midway 1292 tumbler in the mid 90's. It has worked flawlessly since new. Last week I discovered it was recalled in 1998 for a faulty motor and fire hazard.
Midway 1292 Tumbler Instruction Manual
I contacted Midway and they confirmed mine was part of the recall. The recalled tumblers have a plastic base and no bar code inside the base. They said to send it back to them and they would send me a new Frankford Arsenal tumbler as the 1292 is no longer made. It was mailed last week and I just received conformation of receipt and shipping of my new tumbler. Also received $13.55 store credit to cover my shipping to them.I bought this Midway USA tumbler #1292 seven or eight years ago. Its been run at the most 10 hours total with light loads of.223/357mag/and 45 ACP. Today I poured about 200 pc. Of 45ACP range brass into it and let it run for about two hours. I went down stairs to turn it off. Frankford Arsenal Platinum comes with a manual, detailing everything you need to know about the STM and how the tumbler works. In this manual, it says you should never use any cleaners or strong detergents that will deform or ruin the rubber lining of the barrel. So, skipping the manual can go wrong with you. Not a good idea at all.
