I am typing an iMessage on my Mac Book and would like to underline a selection of the text, but i cannot seem to figure out how to do it. I have tried highlighting the selection and using the shortcut for underline ( Command ⌘+ u), highlighting selection and right clicking, highlighting selection and looking for option window to appear like on an iPhone, etc and nothing has worked. How do you underline selected text in an iMessage or Message on a MacBook?

To remove underline, strikethrough or highlight effect on text, press control on the keyboard and click on the text. Click on Remove Highlight from the shortcut menu that will appear. Another feature of the Preview App that you may find useful is the one that allows you to. Make sure readers don’t miss yours by underlining the text or highlighting the area with an oval or rectangle. To mark up the text, select some text in the document and then choose Tools: Mark Up. Below is the instruction on highlighting text in a PDF with Mac Preview app. Double click to open the document in Preview. Click the highlight text tool and select color you like. Find the text you want to highlight, and drag your mouse over it.

Select the annotation/highlight in the sidebar (it'll have the page number next to it, and selecting it sends you to that page, too) and you'll find that the annotation itself, or in this case the highlight, is selected, and pressing Delete gets rid of it.
